HPE tests NVMesh for Cloudline

HPE partnered with Mellanox and Excelero to make high-performance NVMe storage available for scale-out cloud applications on the HPE Cloudline CL3150 Gen10 server, a 1U open standards-based ultra-dense storage server that is ideal for performance demanding cloud applications. The CL3150 supports up to 24 NVMe SSDs providing very high-performance and plenty of capacity, to meet ever-growing needs. Demartek did a benchmark of the solution.

CMA deploys NVMesh for DBaaS

CMA engaged with Excelero to build, test and execute a suite of Oracle RAC 12c database benchmarks based on the Microterabyte V2 architecture and Excelero’s NVMesh software defined storage. The benchmark showed a single 20TB (terabyte) Oracle 12c bigfile tablespace was created in 1 hour, 3 minutes and 41 seconds. This is a rate of about 1/3 terabyte per minute. The result was 3 times faster than the previous highest performing storage node CMA had ever tested and up to 10 times faster than most traditional storage nodes.

TechTarget Award

NVMesh was named as the Software-Defined Storage Product of the Year by the 2017 Products of the Year awards from Storage Magazine and SearchStorage. In winning the Gold medal in the software-defined storage category, NVMesh topped 10 other solutions selected as finalists and was cited by the judges as a “great way for an organization to easily exploit NVMe.” Judges ranked NVMesh as #1 in innovation and #2 for value.

CloudFest

Last week there was the annual CloudFest (aka World Hosting Days), the largest web hosting event in Europe. Excelero was represented at CloudFest by its partners Boston Limited and Mellanox. Our own Axel Rosenberg did a full-house presentation: "Lessons learned from the Big 8: designing elastic (storage) architectures”. We’re waiting for the video of that presentation for those who missed the event - stay tuned!
